Preparatory Training for the Opera Stage
© 2007 Lori Joachim Fredrics
Aspiring opera singers can obtain comprehensive grounding in the various areas that must be mastered before considering a career in opera.
More detailed information about the techniques taught at the studio, including bel canto, Meisner acting technique, and the art song repertoire, which should be studied in preparation for and alongside operatic literature, are available on the respective pages on this website.
Ms. Fredrics has a wide knowledge of the standard operatic repertoire for all voice types, with an especially detailed knowledge of even the most obscure repertoire for lyric mezzo-sopranos.
She also has specialist knowledge of 20th century American Operatic literature in addition to the standard repertoire in all languages.
Ms. Fredrics is fully experienced and knowledgeable in the diagnosis of vocal faults, and is equipped to apply her technique to the training of voices of any fach from the lightest soprano to the heaviest bass.
If you have already been diagnosed with hyperphonatory problems, and the related problems of pushing the voice, vocal tension and forcing of the breath, please note that we have had an excellent rate of rapid success in this area.
Beginners interested in classical training through post graduate opera singers and aspiring profession opera singers can be accepted for operatic training.
